Alex Mitchell studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris, France and obtained her BFA from Maine College of Art. After college she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she designed graphics, web sites and software interfaces for over a dozen years.
Having left the high tech world behind, Alex now focuses exclusively on creating fine art. In addition to encaustic painting, Alex also creates mixed media pieces incorporating her love for photography, metalsmithing and sculpture.
Alex’s art studio #4A1 is located in the annex of the upper mill on the 4th floor. Alex’s studio is always open during public events at the mill…. but it’s a little hard to find. From the 4th floor foyer, turn left and walk to the end of the hall and turn left again. This will take you to into the annex. During open studios there are typically 4 studios tucked in the annex that are always open. Plus, there’s a new staircase in the annex that leads to the 5th floor!
