Originally trained as a graphic artist and illustrator, Kathy Morrissey eventually turned to fine art and specifically oil painting. Both a plein air and a studio painter she has studied extensively at the museum level and has taken various workshops with master artists in the United States and Europe. Recently she has spent time painting and being influenced by great art in France, Italy and Mexico. Locally, Kathy can be seen behind her easel painting coastal scenes and people from Portsmouth NH to Monhegan Island, Maine. Her work is easily recognizable by her use of a rich and vibrant color palette and unique design sense. Kathy’s work expresses a sense of the joy of color and light in everyday scenes.
Kathy’s studio #422 is always open during events at the mills. To find her studio, take a left down the 4th floor hall. Her studio is the last studio on the right.
